I am currently smitten with the fun and charm of the tutu skirt.  I love seeing the many, many ways in which this happy little skirt can be styled – super feminine in shades of blush and with lots of baubles, a little rock and roll with a black tee and ankle boots, or simply classic with an elegant and sparkly racer-back top…the possibilities are endless!

Today, the lovely Francesca is sharing four ways to style Pastel Dress Party’s very own tutu skirt, The Kimmy.  This delightful little tulle creation comes in an array of the prettiest pastel shades (27 to choose from to be exact!), and can be customized to fit you just so.  Perfect for all those upcoming holiday soirees, am I right?!

From Francesca:

Wearing a tutu skirt may seem pretty intimidating, but it’s actually pretty easy! Whether you plan to tulle it up at the office holiday party, dress up for date night, or just have your fashion forward moment for a girls night, we’ve put together a few quick looks to inspire you!

This look adds a bit of glamour and drama to the skirt. With a full length skirt, an embellished (crop) top, and fluffy handbag this look isn’t for the feint of heart. It’s all about making a statement. *Featured Kimmy tutu in Blush.

This look isn’t too fussy. It’s simple, chic, and goes along with the whole minimalist movement in fashion. Pair your favourite sweater with your tulle skirt, slick your hair back Kim K style, and you are good to go! Whether you pair this look with heels or flats, it’s something that will easily make an impression at the office holiday party or impress your future in-laws! *Featured Kimmy tutu in Heather Gray

Comfort is everything! With the cooler temperatures setting in, why not pair your tulle skirt with a comfy sweater? It gives the skirt a super cozy, yet elegant feel. *Featured Kimmy tutu in Gainsboro Gray.

Have a bold shirt? Pair it with your tulle skirt! It’s a way to add a bit of ‘pop’ to the outfit, without adding extra accessories. It’s a bit more toned down than the embellished top and fluffy handbag, so save this outfit for a more corporate environment! *Featured Kimmy tutu in Black.

On October 14th, I had the absolute pleasure of attending THE Pastel Dress Party at the trendy Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.  Part boutique wedding show / part fashion show, it was an evening of fun and beauty as attendees gathered together to mingle and get a little peek at Pastel Dress Party’s latest collection of bridesmaids dresses.  In full support of breast cancer awareness month and with all proceeds from the event going to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada, it was such a great opportunity to meet some super wedding vendors and enjoy pastel prettiness, all for a great cause. With a ceiling full of pink and white lanterns, delectable treats and smiles all around, the room was buzzing with happy energy as guests were treated to mini-makeovers from Murale by Shoppers Drug Mart and had a chance to admire everything from beautiful blooms by Flower Maiden Event Floral to unique jewels from Flux + Form and so much more!

And of course, a party is always more fun if there is a photo booth involved, right?  I loved Leaping Pixel Media’s PixelBooth who had a great team on hand to provide information about their services and a trunk full of props for fun snaps.

As a wedding industry professional, this was also an amazing opportunity to discover new treasures such as Maison des Bows which wowed me with an absolutely exquisite line of bowties, stylish pocket squares and classic lapel pins that would sure make a groom stand out on his big day.

The highlight of the evening was of course, the fashion show, showcasing Pastel Dress Party’s new collection.  Fun, flirty and super flattering, all of the dresses are perfectly suited for the chic, modern bride and her girls.  And with a variety of styles and the prettiest hues and fabrics (hello, tulle!!) to choose from, there is no shortage of options.

I am a huge fan of classic style.  Clean lines, neutrals, subtle but fine detail steal my heart every time.  There are a few celebrities that fully capture this look on a regular basis and make it look so easy and natural.

For today’s post, I wanted to share my current fashion crush: Emma Watson.  Miss Watson has been showing up everywhere lately looking sharp and flawless, whether she’s rocking the Oscars or having lunch in her overalls (you heard that right, overalls!), she always manages to look perfectly age appropriate, classic and elegant at the same time. Here are a few of my favorite looks from this beautiful star.
